Asotin County Master Gardeners
Our goal is to provide sound gardening information to benefit both you and the community. We want gardening to be rewarding for you and protective of our natural resources. We are trained by WSU and use their scientific research-based information to assist us in diagnosing horticulture issues. 
Our programs provide education and information to the public and include the following:
Plant Clinics
We offer various plant clinics throughout the community. From May through September you can find us each Wednesday from 10 AM to 2 PM in the basement of the Asotin County Courthouse. We are also available occassional at other events in the community. Bringing a sample helps in diagnosing the issue. For dates and times, please see our brochure.
Yard and Garden Series Workshops
During the Spring and Fall the Master Gardeners hold workshops educating the public about various horticultural issues. Watch the horticulture calendar of events and local media for dates. Check out the Gardening Calendar for events.
Community Presentations, Fact Sheets and Articles
The Asotin County Master Gardeners are available to give presentations on various topics. Brochure of topics. They also write articles and fact sheets. The Master Gardener office has a wide variety of publication, articles and fact sheets available. Community Presentation Brochure.
Asotin County Fair
The Asotin County Fair is held the last full weekend in April. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer gardening questions while you tour the various exhibits and enjoy the fair. Our booth is located in Floch Hall on the Asotin County Fairgrounds.
Working with Youth
The Master Gardeners teach 4th grade youth about worm composting at the local schools and at the annual Extension Youth Activity Camp held for one week each summer. Kids learn all about gardening, weather, birds, bugs and more! 
Community Garden
We are available at the new community garden to answer questions and offer advise on gardening. Go to their web site.
Master Gardener Horticulture Training
Want to become a certified Master Gardener or want extensive horticultural training? The Master Gardener /Horticultural classes for Asotin, Garfied, Whitman, and Nez Perce counties are held in even numbered years from January through April.
