The 2011 Extension Youth Activity Camp

Once again, great feedback came after the 2011 Extension Youth Activity Camp!  Over 45 youth from grades 2nd through 6th attended the event at Parkway Elementary in Clarkston, WA.

There were a lot of activities for everyone to enjoy...

Sports Week: Does playing hockey, frisbee, learning karate, and a trip to 360 Gymnastics sound like fun? "Yes", said the students at camp.

Ready, Set, Click: What do most kids love? .. taking pictures. Students learned all the basics of photography and got to take lots of interesting pictures including those in total darkness.

Safari Adventures: The Asotin County Master Gardeners organized and taught this class. Kids took home self-made planters plus learned about weather, gardening, birds and more while going on Safari Adventures!

Scrapbooking and Crafts: This class brought out the creativity in the students. They created a personal scrapbook and a pinata to take home.

Awesome Ag: How much fun is it to make butter, taste lamb and other foods, plus a field trip to see how many agricultural items are grown!

Theatre Arts: What a great class to expand kids dreams through art and expression. This class gave the kids the skills to create even better dazzling pictures!

Good student award winners:

Girls: Kylee Bean, Molly Williams, Abby Bower, Courtney Church, and Sydney McRoberts

Boys: Nicholas Noland, Curtis Bower, Jason Hanchett, Matt Aarstad, and Chance Knoerr.

THANK YOU! to the following people and businesses that donated their time and effort. The camp was made possible because of your support!

Asotin Co. Master Gardeners: Glenda Farrell, Jerry Hendrickson, Carol Jones, LeAnn Phillips, Dick Reid, Carole Vande Voorde, and Ronda Welling.
