We're here to help!
Mission: To enhance and supplement the efforts of the Washington State University Master Gardener Program by providing sound, research-based education and information on sustainable horticulture and gardening practices to the citizens of Clallam County and the State of Washington.
Master Gardeners are a group of local volunteers and avid gardeners who undergo a 7-8 week intensive training program before they are allowed to help other area gardeners. Master Gardener training not only teaches about gardening in Clallam County, but more importantly about where to find current, safe, research-based solutions to local gardening problems.
Working under the direction of the WSU Extension agent, Master Gardeners pass on the latest horticultural research findings from WSU to local home gardeners through various programs such as this web site, summer plant clinics, our demonstration gardens, educational programs and so forth.
For more information about Master Gardeners and our community service work contact us at (360) 565-2679 and leave a message requesting an application and volunteer screening form by leaving your name, address, and phone number; or email us at mnesbitt@co.clallam.wa.us or stop by the WSU Extension of Clallam County at 223 W. 4th Street, Suite 15, Port Angeles, 98362. We are in the old courthouse under the clock tower. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the Master Gardener Program.
IMPORTANT: YOU MUST SUBMIT BOTH THE APPLICATION AND THE VOLUNTEER SCREENING FORM BEFORE BEING CONSIDERED AS A CANDIDATE FOR TRAINING. |
