Natural Resources
The natural resources of Columbia county are valuable sources of clean water, air, and habitat for wildlife. They also provide numerous recreational opportunities and are a significant part of the local and regional economy. However, natural and unnatural forces ranging from wildfire and insect and disease outbreaks, to exploitation and unsustainable development threaten these resources.
WSU Extension, in cooperation with State and Federal agencies, strives to deliver education and technical assistance to stakeholders in order to improve stewardship and protection of our natural resources.
Make sure to subscribe to Forest Stewardship Notes, an online newsletter highlighting forest stewardship throughout Washington State.
