Ferry County 4-H Record Books
Stop by the 4-H office to pick up your free copy of the Ferry County 4-H Record Book compliments of Coulee Dam Federal Credit Union, Republic Branch and the Ferry County 4-H Leaders' Council.
Record Books are not a Ferry County 4-H requirement however it may be a club requirement. All 4-H members are strongly encouraged to keep a record book. Save your book for future reference when you are in high school and need scholarship(s) or job reference materials. Or use it to look back on fond memories of your 4-H years! We recommend getting a 3-ring binder and dividing each section of your book.
Remember, it is OK to leave some spaces blank. Not every member does everything. It is important to be accurate, clear and complete on the project records you do have.

4-H Educational Posters
Once again, this is not a Ferry County 4-H requirement, but most clubs require their members to complete one educational poster per 4-H project.
A good educational poster should be a simple design, easy to read from a distance, show creativity and most importantly convey an educational value. Interactive posters are encouraged! The 4-H office does not laminate posters for the Ferry County Fair. If your blue ribbon poster is state fair bound, 4-H members can call the office to schedule a time if you would like your poster laminated.

Teens Fine Tune Leadership Skills!

Who says teens are always causing trouble? Ferry County 4-H teens are not causing problems but working to build their job and leadership skills. Thirteen of them representing Ferry County traveled with 3 chaperones to the 2011 4-H Teen Conference, Up2U, held on the Washington State University Pullman Campus. The workshops and activities offered opportunities for teens from across Washington to come together to engage in educational programs applicable to helping develop themselves into contributing citizens during their lives. Youth learned through hands-on educational sessions, displays, and programs. The keynote speaker focused on the courage to lead others by leading yourself. Following that motivating talk, the capnote speaker spoke about his hope to help every youth reach their dreams, become contributing citizens of this country and to live the American Dream. Teens increased their life-skills, including career and college preparation, and exploration through career fairs and “interviewing for a job” and other workforce prep classes.
Participation was made possible thanks to Kinross Gold Corporation, “4-H-Healthy Alternatives for Youth” Ferry County Community Mobilization program monies, 4-H attendees, and Ferry County Leaders’ Council “Participation Fund” donors. If you would like to attend the 2012 Teen Conference, contact the 4-H office or the Teen Conference Coordinator.
