The 4-H Pledge
I PLEDGE
my HEAD to clearer thinking,
my HEART to greater loyalty,
my HANDS to larger service,
my HEALTH to better living,
for my club, my community, my country, and my world.
4-H Motto
"To make the Best Better".
"I want to give to 4-H"
The Ferry County 4-H office gladly accepts donations of time, materials, and money to help support our local programs. If you would like, you can specify what 4-H program or event you would like your funding to support. Donations can also be anonymous. Contact 4-H Agent Dan Fagerlie for more information.
What is 4-H Youth Development?
Our Ferry County 4-H program is part of WSU Ferry County Extension, located in the basement of the Courthouse in Republic, and partners with the Colville Tribes, Ferry County Community Mobilization (FCCM), USFS Secure Rural Schools Title 3 Program, Private Donors, and adult and teen volunteers to make all this happen for our area's youth. 4-H is a "Healthy Alternative for Youth" to spend their time and get involved to make a difference in their life and the community!
Locally we have 46 4-H Clubs with 289 members, and 129 volunteer leaders in the 2009-10 4-H year. These club volunteer 4-H leaders work with youth throughout the year as 4-H members learn project subject skills such as horse & livestock care and management, nutrition, health, sewing, gardening, computer skills, performing arts, shooting sports, and public speaking as well as social skills of learning teamwork, running a meeting, community involvement, and other talents that help develop them into contributing citizens.
