WSU Grant-Adams Area Master Gardener Program

Gardening Information

Gardening Soap Lake Demonstration Garden

Master Gardeners promote environmentally sound gardening by  providing public education for the control of plant and pest problems. Program volunteers teach and demonstrate on common sense gardening, integrated pest management, water conservation, composting, and home horticulture.

Five communities in the WSU Grant/Adams service area have committed land, water, and labor to build community vegetable gardens. These gardens will provide space for community members who don’t have their own garden spaces to grow vegetables for their families. Other spaces will be designated to grow vegetables for donation to their community’s food bank and will be tended by community volunteers and students from the local schools. The Master Gardener Program will provide training, answer gardening questions, and oversee the progress of these new gardens. Watch for our Drought Tolerant Demonstration Gardens and Community Gardens in Moses Lake, Soap Lake, Royal City, Othello, Wahluke, Quincy, and George.
