| During the growing and harvesting season, many foods are in abundance. Home food preservation can help make fruits, vegetables and food budgets last longer. After having your canner gauge tested, visit Washington State Farmers Markets and preserve some local agriculture. |

When canning home-preserved foods use research-based, laboratory tested, up-to-date recipes from the resources on this page and in this brochure: WSU Extension Food Preservation Resources Brochure #C1117E |
Pressure Canner Dial Gauges should be tested once a year to be sure they are accurate. Weighted Gauges do not need to be tested. The Extension office tests pressure canner gauges for a fee of $5.00. Please call the Extension office to set up a time if you would like your gauge tested. Bring in the lid of your canner with the gauge attached. The test takes approximately 5-10 minutes.
You may download the Assumption of Risk/Release of Liability form and the Pressure Canner Testing Report or you may fill them out at the Extension office.
