Natural Resources

Island County, located in the heart of the Puget Sound, consists of 210 square miles of land, 310 square miles of marine habitat, and 360 miles of shoreline. The diversity of ecosystems includes grasslands, forests, estuaries, wetlands, shoreline, and streams. WSU Extension supports numerous environmental education, research, and stewardship programs including Beach Watchers, Shore Stewards, Climate Stewards, Waste Wise, and a Weathernet program. We welcome you to explore various Natural Resource web pages hosted by WSU Extension – Island County and contact if you want to become involved in these programs or want additional information.
