Economic Development
WSU Jefferson County Extension focuses on innovative strategic priorities.
Relying on national research from the Kauffman Foundation and Center for
Rural Economic Development, WSU Jefferson County Extension is focused on strategies
that maximize the assets and strengths of our community—its location,
it’s people, and a local economy high in “cultural-creatives”: artists,
artisans, skilled trades people, innovators, and advanced technologists.
-
WSU works to grow the local economy by: Energizing Entrepreneurs
- Attracting and retaining 18-35 year-old emerging entrepreneurs
- Expanding access to capital through local community reinvestment
- Setting a new tone of community leadership, collaboration, and public-private partnership
