2012 Master Gardener Training Course

Volunteer Training Course is closed for 2012. Check back next year!

Thank you for your interest in Master Gardener Training!

The 2012 Training includes WSU research based computer training, field trips, labs, classroom participation, working with Master Gardener projects and committees. Each student receives substantial learning and reference materials.

2012 training to be held on Wednesdays,  February 29 - May 30, 2012
9am-4pm each day.
Cost  of the training  is $160.
Application deadline is February 1, 2012
All fees will be paid on the first day of class,  February 29th, 2012

Your community payback is 100 hours over the course of  2 years. 18 of those hours must be spent in plant clinics. You will start working with MG committees while you are in training . The hours you work during training count toward your 100 payback hours. It is easy and fun full filling this payback requirement.

You will be using an online course provided by WSU  ($70 to WSU) which you do on your own time each week. We will supplement this training with  classroom time ($90 to JCMGF) in labs, field trip and group activities. There will be a balance between self-study/computer time and hands-on activities in the classroom time.

Fast computer ( no dial-up) to web access  with Firefox as the browser is necessary for compatibility. WSU Jefferson will provide computer lab time for anyone who does not have a computer at home. Availability of computer lab hours TBA.
