A nationally recognized AG Entrepreneurship training program customized for local farmers and AG business owners.
In this multi-session program, farmers will learn to reinvent their agricultural enterprises. Business planning, marketing research and financial management skills are a few of the concrete tools taught by certified business trainers and local experts. Participants will evaluate their business ideas and complete business plans ready for a banker's review.
The course, consisting of 12 3-hour sessions, will examine the critical components necessary for developing a comprehensive business plan.
Sustainable Small Acreage Farming & Ranching Overview Course
This course is for anyone interested in developing a small acreage farm or ranch using sustainable practices.
- Learn what it takes to have a sustainable small acreage farm or ranch and take a realistic look at goals, resources needed and opportunities available.
- Guest farmers speak to the class and field trips are taken to local farms.
- Open to academic students and community members for continuing education units.
Course fee: $250.00 per individual, family or farm - includes textbooks and materials.

The program is designed to help a broad range of small to mid-sized farmers, ranchers, food processors, distripbutors, retailers, food professionals and others working the agricultural sector. Owners and managers of new and existing businesses are encouraged to participate.
