Mason County Shore Stewards
Creating healthier shores for wildlife and people

Shore Stewards are waterfront and stream-side property owners who share ideas, information and resources to enrich the beauty and abundance of our shoreline properties. By understanding and applying a few habitat-friendly concepts we are creating healthier waters and shores for birds, fish and wildlife.
Mason County is home to more than more than 500 Shore Stewards. Our members include homeowners and renters, farmers and forest owners, parks, and businesses that own land along shores and streams. Stewards voluntarily apply 10 habitat-friendly guidelines to care for our beaches, bluffs, gardens and homes. In turn, Shore Stewards are provided with a metal sign depicting the organization's logo (above) to display on their property as a sign of their commitment. Members also receive the monthly electronic newsletter as well as notice about upcoming workshops.
Shore Stewards love our beautiful shores and waterways, and understand as owners and users we are the stewards who will care for these unique environments so that we may pass them along to the next generation in even better condition.
All those who live along streams, who own or rent shoreline property, or who live in communities with shared beach access in Clallam, Island, Jefferson, Kitsap, Mason, Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom counties are invited to join Shore Stewards.
Check out the Washington Shore Stewards website for application information. Or, contact Cammy Mills at (360) 427-9670 or (360) 275-9670 Ext 685 or cammymills@wsu.edu
