Spotted Wing Drosophila & Brown Marmorated Stink Bug Workshop

May 10th from 10 – 11:30 am
At the Puyallup Research and Extension Center
Spotted Wing Drosophila (SWD) was introduced into California in 2008 and has become established in the Pacific Northwest. It has been found in the Puyallup river valley and is becoming one of the most destructive pests to cherry, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, strawberry, plums, pluots, nectarines, and, and recent evidence indicates that they may feed on wine grapes. Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) is a new potential pest recently found in Southwest Washington. This insect has a wide host range including a number of agriculturally important crops. These new pests are going to be important for both commercial farmers and gardeners.
WSU Pierce County Extension, WSU Mount Vernon Northwestern Washington and Puyallup Research and Extension Center would like to extend an invitation for you to attend this workshop.
