Sherwood Creek Demonstration Forest

Located seven miles east of the town of Chewelah, WA, this 60 acre tract was donated by the Playfair family to be used for the education of school groups, forest landowners, natural resource professionals, and anyone interested in the role of management in maintaining a healthy forest.  At it's core is a 7-block demonstration site featuring 7 different management systems: Control, high grade, thin from below (no burn), uneven-aged management (burned), clearcut (burned), thin from below (burned), and a commercial thin.
